पॉडभारती अप्रेल 2007 में प्रारंभ एक हिन्दी पॉडपत्रिका है, जो तकनलाजी, इंटरनेट पर भारतीय भाषाओं से संबंधित तकनीक व जानकारी तथा सामयिक विषयों और मनोरंजन पर विविध समाचार-विचार प्रस्तुत करती है। इसकी मूल परिकल्पना व सहनिर्माण किया देबाशीष चक्रवर्ती और शशि सिंह ने।
पॉडभारती के पुराने व नये जालस्थल, लोगो व बैनर का निर्माण देबाशीष ने किया। पहले पहल पॉडभारती अपनी आडियो फाईलें ब्लिप पर सहेजा करता था, फिर यह होस्टिंग पॉडबाज़ार द्वारा उपलब्ध कराई गई। पॉडबाजार के भी बंद होने के पश्चात अब हम साउंडक्लाउड का प्रयोग कर रहे हैं। Podbharati.com के तहत बन रहे पॉडभारती के नये शो Anchor.fm पर होस्टेड हैं।
पॉडभारती का मूल डोमेन Podbharti.com शशि द्वारा खरीदा गया था। इसके 2012 में एक्सपायर होने और 2012 में ही Podbazaar.com के बंद होने के बाद के बाद अनेक मूल MP3 फाईलें गायब हो गईं। अपने निजी संग्रह और Web Archives की मदद से देबाशीष ने मूल फाईलों को पुनः जमा कर इन्हें साउंडक्लाउड पर रखा। पुराना पार्क्ड डोमेन अब चीनीयों को पैसा कमा कर दे रहा है। हालांकि मई 2020 से, जब यह पॉडकास्ट देबाशीष द्वारा लिये अपने नये डोमेन Podbharati.com पर स्थानांतरित हुआ, यह उपक्रम देबाशीष स्वतंत्र रूप से चला रहे हैं।
Founded in April 2007, Podbharati has been India’s first pure Hindi Podzine (podcast magazine) targeted towards Hindi audience in India and abroad. Its debut podcast, now called “Podbharati Classic” aimed at providing a comprehensive coverage of News & Views about Indian language blogging, Tools, Technology, Current Affairs and the Entertainment Industry.
Podbharati was originally co-founded and co-hosted by Debashish Chakrabarty and Shashi Singh (at the now defunct domain Podbharti.com). In May 2020, Podbharati was relaunched as a Podcast Platform, now owned and run by Debashish independently at its new home Podbharati.com. The old and new website, logo, banner/artwork of Podbharati were created by Debashish.
When we started, Podbharati used to save its audio files on Blip.tv, then this hosting was provided by Podbazaar.com, founded by the California based Indian couple Sujatha Jagannathan and Sriram, where along with the original Podcast (with over 13800 downloads), an abridged version “Podbharati Light” (with over 7000 downloads, remember these were the times of dismal internet speeds and audio streaming was not around) was also hosted. Podbazaar was a natural home for Podbharti given that the platform was targeted at Indian language podcasts and attracted many great talents.
After Podbazzar stopped its services the episodes of Podbharati Classic were moved to Soundcloud. Podbharati’s new shows (e.g. Sopaan) are being hosted on various podcast hosts such as Anchor.fm.
Podbharati’s original domain Podbharti.com was bought by Shashi. However, many original MP3 files disappeared after the domain expired in 2012, and Podbazaar.com too was closed the same year. With the help of his personal archives and web archives, Debashish retrieved the original files and placed them on SoundCloud. The old parked domain is now earning money for the Chinese. Since May 2020, when the podcast moved to its new domain Podbharati.com, Debashish has been running the venture independently.
